Privacy Policy
CitedBy stores the minimum needed to run the service: your email, your account and your session. No ad trackers, no data sales.
What we collect
If you create an account: your email address and the data you choose to save in CitedBy.
If you sign in: a session cookie (strictly necessary) and standard technical logs (IP address, user agent) kept briefly for security.
If you just browse: your preferences (such as the theme) stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
What we use it for
Running the service, signing you in by magic link, and answering your support requests. We don't sell data, share it with advertisers, or profile you.
Who runs the service
CitedBy is published by Vidhal Elame, who is responsible for the processing described here.
Service providers
- Hosting provider: serves the site.
- Neon: hosts the database.
- Resend: sends the sign-in emails.
Each provider only receives what it needs to do its job. Transfers outside the EU rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is active. Technical logs are kept for a short period, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
